This king was killed on the guillotine just ten years after he created the Theatre Montansier. This theater shortly became the country’s central stage for performing. Many artists came there and id their performances. Also Parisians crowds from the city came regularly. It was restored and then reopened in the 19th century. A lot of Moliere plays were done there. Another great theatrical venue is the Theatre de l’Octroi. It is worth seeing as it offers drama diversity.

Around 350 years ago, most of the town’s music was sung at the Chateau’s chapel and some of the royal chambers. It was supervised by Lully and Lalande.

Hundred years after that Marie Antoinette helped the launch of Gluck and Salieri.

In this region some leading classical great singers were born. Among them there is Silvio Gualda and also Paul Mefano. The village wants to promote high education and culture. The art is everywhere. Besides that, Versailles has been a common stage for many French historical films. The city has offered those movies a very vibrant scene for performing the arts.
